BLUE LAKE UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY AND APPOINTMENT PROCESS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the electors of the Blue Lake Union Elementary School District that there is a current vacancy on the Board of Trustees for the District, formerly held by Jennifer Mager. The Board intends to appoint a qualified resident of the District to fill the vacancy under a term of office that shall expire in December 2024.

In order to be eligible to serve as an appointee in the vacant seat, the individual applying for a Board position must reside within the District’s boundaries and meet the additional legal qualifications for Board members as detailed in Education Code 35107.

Any eligible person who desires to be considered for appointment to this public office must file an application by 5:00p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Applications can be picked up from the school, which is located at 631 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Lake, CA or download from our website at https://bluelakeschool.org. Please note that your application is a public application and can be seen by the public.

After all forms are submitted, the Board will review the applications and conduct interviews. Interviews will take place during the Regular Board Meeting on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 6:00pm. Once interviews have taken place, a final selection will be made, and the member will be appointed to the position and begin the duties of the Board that evening.
