I am a Humboldt County native who graduate from Humboldt State University. I hold a credential as an Education Specialist for students with mild to extensive support needs. My self contained class educates students in grades from Kindergarten to 8th Grade.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling in North America, seeing other parts of the world when possible, working on cars, and spending time with my hunter cat, Trout.

Curriculum:

In SDC, I teach students in differentiated grade level curriculum according to IEP goals. I work closely with General Education grade level teachers for inclusion of my students whenever appropriate.

Weekly Homework Packet:

  • A new homework packet is sent home with select students every Friday

  • Completed packets are due back by the following Friday but may be turned in at an earlier date

  • Weekly Goal: Complete 80% - 100%

  • All students are provided opportunities to receive academic support during the school day and in the after-school program. I encourage students to bring their homework packets from home to school every day so they can receive academic assistance.

  • A Weekly Reading Log will be included in the packet. There is a parent signature section to be completed.

  • If at any time homework becomes too difficult for your student to complete for any reason, send a note in the returned packet. I will follow-up with you to help problem solve.

School Supplies:

  • closed toe shoes for PE and recreational time

  • backpack, optional

  • water bottle, optional
